Ingredients

  • 1 avocado large, pitted and peeled
  • 1/3-1/2 cups sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cups lime juice juice of 1 to 2 limes (about 1/4 cup)
  • 1/3 cups fresh cilantro leaves and tender stems
  • 1 clove garlic roughly chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1-3 tablespoon water for thinning
  • 1 jalapeño deseeded (optional)

Preparation

  1. Place avocado, sour cream or Greek yogurt, lime juice, cilantro, garlic, and kosher salt in a blender or food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding 1 to 3 tablespoons of water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  3. Taste and adjust salt or lime juice as desired.
  4. If using, add deseeded jalapeño and blend again for a spicier crema.
