Ingredients
2 cups
flour
1 tsp
salt
1 tbsp
oil
3/4 cup
warm water
vegetable oil
for frying
Preparation
Place the flour and salt in a bowl.
Add oil.
Slowly add water and mix into dough.
Bring the dough together with your hands, then turn it out onto a floured surface.
Knead into a firm but pliable dough, adding more flour if the dough is too sticky.
Cover and rest 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into equal-sized balls, and roll out each to form a round, flat circle about 5 cm in diameter.
Brush a frying pan with oil, and cook the chapatis for 3 to 4 minutes each side, until golden brown.
