Ingredients

  • 12 oz fresh mushrooms sliced
  • 2 cups onion chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter for sautéing
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dill weed
  • 1 tablespoon Hungarian paprika
  • 1 tablespoon tamari or soy sauce if in P>R>
  • 2 tablespoons butter for roux
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • fresh ground pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped

Preparation

  1. Sauté the onions in butter until translucent.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are tender.
  3. Stir in the chicken broth, dill weed, paprika, and tamari (or soy sauce).
  4. In a separate pan, melt the butter and whisk in the flour to create a roux.
  5. Gradually add the milk to the roux, stirring until smooth.
  6. Combine the roux with the mushroom mixture.
  7. Add lemon juice, sour cream, salt, and pepper to taste.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
