Ingredients
- 1/2 cup onion chopped
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 can tomato paste 5.5 ounces / 156 mL
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
Preparation
- Sauté onion in butter until translucent.
- Add garlic and cook briefly.
- Add rice and water, season with salt and pepper (carefully - don't over season).
- When almost cooked, add can of tomato paste and cheddar cheese.
- Simmer until cooked.
- Serve with fried onions on top - just like Nana - and Mom - would!
