Scones

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 7 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cups pumpkin
  • 1/2 cups half and half
  • 1 egg

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease baking sheet.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Using a pastry knife or a fork, cut in butter to make it crumbly.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk pumpkin, cream, and egg. Fold into dry ingredients.
  4. Make dough ball. Pat and roll out into a 1 inch thick rectangle. Cut into triangles and bake for 14-16 minutes. Cool.

1st Glaze - Sugar

Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk

Preparation

  1. Brush plain glaze over scones.

2nd Glaze - Spiced

Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 pinch ginger
  • 1/8 pinch cloves

Preparation

  1. Once first glaze is firm, drizzle spiced glaze over scones.
