Bourbon Caramel Sauce

Ingredients

  • 3 cups dark brown sugar packed
  • 3 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 vanilla beans halved lengthwise
  • 3 tablespoons bourbon

Preparation

  1. Mix first 5 ingredients in heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat and bring to boil. Reduce heat and boil gently about 25 minutes (until a spoon is coated thickly). Remove from heat. Add bourbon.
  2. Put over ice cream, grilled bananas (cut in half lengthwise and grilled in skin), and toasted pecans.
